1. Operating Hours

Chris and Brian talk about how setting specific operating hours will benefit you in your business and your personal life. When a client messages us outside of our operating hours, it’s ok to not answer it. They explain why we have this overwhelming and unnecessary feeling of guilt when we don’t respond to clients after our business is closed.

2. Learning To Say “No”

In the beginning, it’s important to say “yes” to everything. This will help you meet more connections and grow your business. Chris and Brian explain when it’s time to stop saying “yes”, and move to saying “no”.

If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a hell no!” – Derek Sivers

When you say no to someone, you should do it in a way that makes them respect you more.” – Tim Ferris

3. Centralizing Communications For Projects

If you are trying to keep track of conversations with customers through Facebook, Instagram, email, text message, and other platforms of communication… STOP!

Brian and Chris go over specific examples of why centralizing communications will streamline your business and help you focus on what you should be focusing on.

4. Written Agreements

Brian and Chris talk about “project creep” and how having a written agreement will eliminate this problem. And it doesn’t have to be this in depth, 20 page legal agreement, it just needs to be a one page written agreement touching on all the key points of the project.

5. Autoresponder

Chris talks about his own personal autoresponder that he uses for his mastering business. The autoresponder will handle emails while you are outside of your operating hours or on vacation.

Brian explains why having an autoresponder is a huge step to separating yourself from your business.

6. Personal Boundaries

Chris pulls back the curtain to his family life and how he put boundaries into place to help separate his personal life from his business.

Brian explains how not setting boundaries will lead to more and more multitasking, which won’t allow you to work at your optimal level.

You cannot be a multitasker and be successful” – Brian Hood

7. Blacklist!

Brian explains how 20% of your clients will give you 80% of your headaches in life and why you should add these people to your private blacklist. Chris shares a personal story of one of his own 20%-ers.
